President's Welcome

Dear Colleagues and Friends

I am delighted to welcome EATB members and visitors to the EATB website. The EATB is an advocate for its members in all medical, scientific and other professional activities associated with tissue banking. This website is designed to help communication between EATB members, the EATB Board, Sister Associations and other professionals with an interest in this field. The website has public pages and pages dedicated to the interests of members of the EATB. If you wish to join the EATB you are invited to complete an application form, which can be downloaded here

The EATB has many diverse functions:

  • EATB represents its members and works as an advocate for them
  • EATB supports European and other international endeavours to improve tissue banking
  • EATB works with regulators to constantly strive for greater safety and efficacy.
  • EATB holds annual congresses to provide a forum for scientific, ethical and clinical activities relating to tissue banking and to provide a forum for presentation of research and collaborative working.
  • EATB contributes to formal consultations and seeks to actively involve its members in all its activities.
  • EATB strives to communicate actively with its members, both through its website and through regular ebulletins. The EATB Articles of Association are due to be discussed at the Annual General Meeting, to be held in Edinburgh at the Joint EATB/BATB Congress in November 2008.
